Wendelstein 7-x

An honorable and advanced assignment where we received an order to build 2 different types of fusion reactors for a German research institute, the Max Planck Institute.
The first, Wendelstein 7-x, is a stellarator and has a distinctive look that is not Lego-builder friendly at all. Nothing is straight or even round, but everything is twisted and round at the same time. But the design finally came together and we were able to deliver 2 copies of the model to the customer.
The other, the Asdex upgrade, is a tokamax and was also a big challenge to design, as it is round, and the reactor chamber itself is like a sphere. In the end, we succeeded with this as well and were able to deliver 2 copies to the customer.
The models are now in showrooms for the research institute in two cities in Germany, Garching and Greifswald.
